• My son/daughter wants to start playing guitar. What do you think is the best one to start with?

  A nylon string guitar is recommended for beginners under the age of 11 due to its ease of play and the fact that it is available in a variety of sizes suiting the player.

• What size guitar suits particular age groups?

  5-6y/old quarter size

  6-8y/old half size

  8-10 3/4 size

  11+ full size

  However, sizes may need to be varied according to the height of the player.

• What is a good electronic tuner?

  Electronic tuners are available from $20. A recommended tuner by many teachers and students is the Ashton Chromatic CT150. A small battery operated tuner that has the ability to tune numerous instruments, including guitars, it has an input (to tune electric instruments) and a microphone.

• What can you recommend as a good Electronic Tuner?

  Our most popular Electronic Metronome is the Korg MA 30, it can go to a very high volume and has a headphone input it also has the ability to play numerous time signatures.

• How much does it cost for my guitar to be restrung?

  A basic restring, polish and tune will cost $15.00 plus the cost of your selected strings. Prices may vary depending on style of the guitar. Setups and repairs are also available, contact store for more details.

• Do you do repairs?

  We will carry out basic repairs to drums and guitars, for example, reskinning of drums, replacing machine heads of guitars and some electrical work. We have local repairers that do specialty work on other instruments. For details of repairers and to see if we can cater for your needs please contact the store.
  
  

   

• What is a good electric guitar beginner pack?

  We have two main electric guitar packages that we recommend to beginners.

  One being the SX pack, complete with guitar, amp, picks, tuner, strap, lead, case and instructional DVD priced at $299. The other a Fender Squier pack with the same contents priced at $395.
  We are also more than happy to create a package for you depending on your budget.

• Can I order Print music through you?

  We have access to a large range of Print music through our various suppliers. If you are after particular music and we do not have it in stock or do not stock it we will more than happily order it for you, however, depending on where the music has to come from will depend on the wait time, generally 5-10 working days.

• What are your opening and closing times?

  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday- 9-5.15
  Thursday 9-6
  Saturday 9-2

• Do you buy second hand instruments?

  For your benefit we recomment that you attempt to sell the instrument privately, this way you get all the profit. However, we will consider trade-ins on a case by case basis.

• What happens if you do not have what I want in stock?

  Providing we have access to the product you are requesting we are happy to order it in for you.

• What are your lay-by terms?

  On creation of your lay-by we request that you place a non refundable deposit of 20% of the purchase price.
  Lay-bys must be payed in full within 3 months
